Many dogs love a gentle, hands-on session, and maintenance massage can be a lovely addition to a healthy dog's routine. It's worth understanding exactly what it is, and what it isn't, before you book.

What maintenance massage is

Maintenance massage is a calm, hands-on session for generally healthy dogs, focused on relaxation, comfort and wellbeing. Sessions go at the dog's pace, and a good practitioner will watch closely for signs that a dog wants to pause or stop.

What it isn't

Massage is not a replacement for veterinary care, and it isn't a treatment for injury or illness. In the UK, if a dog has a diagnosed condition, is recovering from surgery or is being treated by a vet, their vet should be consulted before any hands-on therapy.

Signs your dog is enjoying it

  • Soft eyes and a relaxed body
  • Leaning into the touch
  • Slow breathing or settling down
  • Choosing to stay rather than move away

Our founder holds a Level 3 Diploma in Canine Massage. Appointments aren't open just yet, but you can register your interest on our Canine Wellness page.
